So I finally got around to doing another fanart... let me tell you that you don't have to be a teenager to be a rabid fangirl.
This is Edward Elric, from Fullmetal Alchemist; the reference used is from the movie, so this is an adult Ed.
Materials: Charcoal (2B, 4B, 6B Condensed black, medium vine black, white condensed), kneaded rubber eraser, pink pearl plastic eraser (in fact at the moment I am stil playing with the kneaded eraser)
The technique is charcoal reduction. First you blacken in the whole page and "draw" using your erasers, along with layering with different charcoals. It is very messy. I love it. When I get time I think I will do a whole series of these.
It took a little less than 3 hours to finish. Original size is 11"x14"

I still have tons left over from my art class, and the bookstore is a half a block down the street, so I have easy access to more when I need it. It would be a pain to have to drive out somewhere to buy supplies.

There was a girl in our art class last quarter who could do an 18"X24" charcoal reduction without geting any on her hands!
